Unlike it’s much larger competitor, MeWe won’t sell your information and has no advertisements or any other targeted (blood pressure-raising) content. And, it won’t moderate your content. MeWe can’t compare with Facebook in terms of number of users, but Facebook’s recent issues with selling user data and long history of security lapses are encouraging users to make the switch.
If you don’t follow any controversial people / pages, you’ll simply enjoy MeWe’s simple presentation of the content you want – and nothing more. But be warned, by not moderating content, controversial figures / pages have a huge number of incendiary posts, often by people posing as people you’d follow if they were the real person.
